Description:

• A growing Australian venture capital fund is seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer to join their leadership team. With a track record of successful capital deployment and a new fund currently in the raising phase, this is an opportunity to step into a pivotal role at a high-growth investment firm.
  

About the Fund:

• This is a boutique VC fund with a lean and entrepreneurial team, a strong network of investors, and a focus on early-stage investments in high-growth sectors. The fund has already raised previous rounds and is in the process of scaling up via new fundraising.
  

The Role:

• As CFO, you will be responsible for the financial operations of the fund, including fund administration, investor reporting, tax structuring, compliance, and cashflow oversight. You’ll work closely with the Managing Partners to support capital raising efforts, provide insights into portfolio performance, and help shape strategic decision-making.
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all fund-level financial reporting, audits, tax, and compliance
• Liaise with external fund administrators, legal, and tax advisors
• Manage capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting
• Provide financial insights and modelling to support fundraising and strategic planning
• Support portfolio companies with financial governance as needed
• Help build and scale finance systems appropriate for the fund’s growth
  

Previous Experience:

• Prior experience as a CFO or senior finance leader in a fund environment (VC, PE, Alternative strategy or family office)
• Deep understanding of fund structures, capital calls, carried interest, and LP reporting
• CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent), with strong commercial acumen
• Hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable working in a small team
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative leadership style
