THE OPPORTUNITY
Corporate Finance Associate
- Assist key strategic decisions with senior management via financial modelling.
- Key strategy role with both internal progression opportunities, and an ability to move to the US.
Our client is a large artificial intelligence focused data centre infrastructure business with assets and teams across north America and APAC. They specialise in creating sustainable, energy-efficient infrastructure to support the growing demand for AI high powered compute (“HPC”). This role assists the senior management in making key strategic decisions across strategy, M&A, CAPEX, Funding requirements via financial modelling.
Key Responsibilities -
- Assisting the team in analysing commercial metrics for potential M&A opportunities, greenfield development projects, and debt/equity requirements.
- Managing the existing corporate financial model for management to understand business direction. This will include overlaying strategic ideas (as listed above) to understand corporate impacts and funding requirements, which will inform key corporate decisions.
- Preparation of regular business development and financial reports for the board and senior management.
- Providing research for presentations and analysis on capital deployment, key issues, and opportunities within the business.
- Drafting, as required, relevant documents including investor and board presentations, monthly and quarterly reports.
- Conduct feasibility analysis and provide insights into power markets, pricing, grid connections, and regulatory frameworks for development projects.
- Supporting the commercial negotiations and development activities for business growth and project opportunities, including feasibility analysis for technical, commercial, and regulatory aspects.
Qualifications -
Degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Engineering, or related field.
4-6 years of experience in commercial, corporate development, investment banking, deals modelling/valuations from high profile consultancies or a similar field, with exposure to:
- Full 3 way statement financial modelling (must)
- Infrastructure valuation and advisory or modelling for large scale capital intensive industries (Infrastructure, renewables, construction, resources) (ideal)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (must)
- Experience with M&A due diligence and negotiations (good to have)
