Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to support investment and portfolio management activities within the renewable infrastructure sector, ensuring strong performance across the asset lifecycle and optimising outcomes for investors. This includes supporting investment processes, enhancing financial modelling, and contributing to strategic decision-making regarding renewable energy assets.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Analysis & Execution

• Conduct due diligence for potential investment opportunities in renewable energy assets, including (but not limited to) wind, hydro, and battery storage (greenfield and brownfield).
• Support the origination, assessment, and execution of new investments, including greenfield projects, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
• Assist in the structuring and negotiation of investment agreements and financing arrangements.
• Prepare detailed investment papers and presentations for the Investment Committee.

Asset Management

• Lead the development, maintenance, and optimisation of complex financial models to evaluate investment performance of portfolio assets.
• Perform scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making, including contract negotiations, refinancings, and lifecycle optimisations.
• Support the semi-annual valuation process, collaborating with independent valuers and senior team members.
• Assist the assessment of strategies to enhance asset performance.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Finance/Commerce or a related field (minimum degree level).
• 3-5 years of experience in a role with exposure to project finance infrastructure models (PPP/Renewables - models with debt optimisation). Likely M&A/Investment Banking, Infrastructure lead financial advisory, or infrastructure financial modelling/deals modelling teams.
• Proficiency in financial modelling (specifically project finance modelling) and strategic analysis.
• The candidate should have had exposure to infrastructure, renewables, energy, or waste.
• We will require candidates to either have built ground up project finance models, or have completed courses for project finance modelling - which complements their above listed experience.
