Site Identification and Acquisition:

• Identify and secure strategic locations suitable for data centre development, including evaluating grid connection feasibility.
• Negotiate with utilities and other stakeholders to ensure optimal site acquisition and grid connection.

Project Development:

• Lead the development process from early-stage site identification through to project execution.
• Manage relationships. E.g. with energy companies, battery developers, etc… including assessing opportunities for acquisition or partnerships.
• Collaborate with global development teams to align projects with IREN’s strategic objectives.

Strategic Partnerships:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key players in the utilities sector and other relevant industries.
• Leverage existing networks to enhance project outcomes and secure favorable terms for site acquisitions.

Leadership and Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with the global development team, providing insights and strategic direction for regional projects.
• Mentor and guide junior team members in the development process, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.

Financial and Commercial Responsibilities:

• Perform financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting related to development projects.
• Assist the Executive Leadership Team in understanding key strategic opportunities and operating and financial metrics.
• Oversee relationships with project stakeholders during the development phase, including landowners, transmission service operators, and local councils.

Ideal Work History

5+ years’ experience in infrastructure development or project management, including exposure to:

• Site identification, acquisition, and development for:
• Data centres or renewable energy (Solar, wind, BESS); and/or
• Negotiations with utilities, securing grid connections, and managing relationships with stakeholders.
• Leading projects from inception to completion with a focus on renewable energy integration.

Desired Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
• Technical expertise in renewable energy or grid infrastructure a plus.
• Current Driver’s License
